The Play: Set against the harsh backdrop of the Great Depression, Of
Mice and Men is the story of George and Lennie, two friends with a
simple dream: to own a farm and live off the fat of the land. There are
times, though, when sharpwitted George feels the burden of looking after
Lennie, while gentle giant Lennie doesn't realise his own strength... As
they drift from job to job, trouble's never far away, and before long
it's time to move on again. When the pair get work in Soledad,
California, however, the dream looks set to become a reality. But a
tragic turn of events threatens to destroy George and Lennie's
friendship and leaves George faced with an impossible choice...

Jacqueline will be playing Amanda in 'Fuchsia' by Matthew Westwood at
the White Bear Theatre Club, Kennington, London SE11 from 3/22 February
2009.
'Fuchsia' is a brand new play by Matthew Westwood. He had always wanted
Jacqueline to play the part of Amanda - a woman who runs a certain type
of nightclub and to whom others are drawn, like moths to a flame - even
before meeting her, but after they met he decided to completely re-write
the play to expand the part of Amanda, knowing there was no-one else who
could possibly play her. Jacqueline was so flattered by this, and so
impressed with the play, that she agreed to return to the cold British
winter away from her beloved monkeys to play the part.
The White Bear Theatre, 138 Kennington Park Road, London SE11 (2 mins
walk from Kennington Tube). Box office 020 7793 9193;
