This power scale, in the control room on Cephlon in Deliverance, was recognised by the Liberator's crew, which seemed to indicate that it was in general use outside of that planet. It was mentioned 4 times in that episode:
Gan said, 'This alpha scale is registering'.
Avon ordered, 'Take it to level one'.
Avon later ordered, 'Take it to level two'.
Vila then said, 'Level two, and we have power'.
In Dawn of the Gods, Zen said that sustained asymmetric thrust was draining energy banks at 'depletion rate nine'.
The System appeared to use a power rating for its weaponry at least of 'force levels', referred to 5 times in Redemption:
Alta 1 ordered 'Force level three' and a guard placed a longer version of a Liberator handgun against the side of Blake's neck, causing him great pain.
Alta 2 commanded, 'Sustained, Level five' to be used on Blake after he protested.
Alta 2 then warned Blake, 'A third time and I will command destruction level'.
When Blake made a demand of Alta 1, she commanded a guard, 'Force level seven', and a 'prod' was put against Blake's neck, causing him to reply, 'Understood'.
A slave used a guard's 'prod' to kill Alta 2, saying, 'Destruction level!'
The practical unit of electromagnetic force, the difference of potential capable of sending a current of one ampere through a conductor whose resistance is one ohm, named after Alessandro Volta (1745-1827 AD), Italian physician and scientist. It was referred to 3 times in the series:
In Killer, Avon said that there were 'a quarter of a million volts' running through the converter. In the same episode, Vila referred to 'A quarter of a million volts'.
In Sarcophagus, the Avon said that the alien was capable of throwing 'high voltage' bouquets.
