Ton:
There was one reference to this unit. In Dawn of the Gods, Orac said that a cubic inch of black hole matter can weigh 'a million tons'. Presumably, Orac was referring to an imperial ton; because it would have been contrary to his precise character to mistakenly say that the volume of something in one scale of measurement would weigh something in a different scale.
Kilogram:
There were 6 references to this unit:
Episode | Reference |
---|---|
Traitor | Forbus warned Tarrant and Dayna to put their weapons away, or he would detonate 'seven hundred kilos' of glycerotrinitrate. |
Orbit | Orac said that seventy kilos weight must be lost before the shuttle could have escape velocity. |
Avon then said, 'Only seventy kilos'. | |
Later in the same episode, Avon gave Vila a small plastic object and told him to get rid of it, despite the latter pointing out that it weighed 'A kilo and a half' if they were lucky. | |
Avon asked what weighed seventy kilos. | |
Orac answered Avon's earlier question, stating that Vila weighed seventy-three kilos. |
This was mentioned once, in Dawn of the Gods, when the Caliph of Krandor said that for him and the Lord Thaarn, the Liberator was 'a thousand cobars' of herculanium alloy.
Two references were made:
In Stardrive, when Avon estimated that the mass of the asteroid he was planning to use as cover for the Scorpio was 'About two billion tons'.
In the same episode, Vila said, 'Two billion [tons]?'
It was not clear from the context if these were references to imperial or metric tons.
This was mentioned once. In The Harvest of Kairos, Captain Shad reported that they had 'eighty- four units' of excess Kairopan on board the shuttle.
