This issue includes a huge variety of humor as well as a long B7/Star Trek: the Next Generation crossover and a few serious short pieces. As with the first issue, a lot of the contents could be described as "bent," and I mean that as a high compliment.

CONTENTS/CONTRIBUTORS

Art: The cover is a blueprint of part of the Liberator set, done in sepia on cream. The zine is filled with art "and art-like substances" by Celeste Hotaling-Lyons, Val Westall, and Marion Mendez and OrMac.

Filks: "Kerr Avon's Ride" and "Filks That Will Never (Please God) Be Written" by Shoshanna.

Poetry: "Orac's Elegy" by Marion Mendez and OrMac is a really neat poem, especially considering it was written with the help of poetry-writing software--particularly appropriate for a zine focusing on Zen.

There is another selection of "ShrinkVids (TM)," attempts to summarize episodes as short funny poems.

Miscellaneous: As in issue #1, there is a variety of "filked" cartoons and fake ads. "Wild Child's Guide to Media Fandom," by Celeste, is a combination of cartoons and accurate if satirical description. "B7 Episodes that should have been made...but weren't" are humorous synopses of mythical episodes by Alicia Ann Fox with generous aid from Celeste and her rubberstamp collection.

Short fiction: Postscripts to "Countdown" and "Voice from the Past" by Jamie Melody Randell, told by Avon in first person.

"The DSV Interviews" by Celeste Hotaling-Lyons: a series of parodies, some of them screamingly funny. Baba Wawa interviews Blake after"Blake"; Edward R. School does person-to-person with Avon on RubberRoom World, 5 years post-Gauda Prime (one of my particular favorites); News Center 7 with Vila, commenting on life with Avon (also great); Good Parenting with Cally; Donnybrook! with Jenna; Church Chat with Sleer; Gan on Late Night with Deeva Letterbeing; Orac meets Max Headroom; and Travis's unfortunate encounter with "Mr. Rojer's Neighborhood."

Stories: "Parallel Intersection, or Hey, That's Not Our Theme Song!" by Bill Brickman and Alicia Ann Fox: a lengthy B7/Star Trek: the Next Generation crossover with a somewhat complex plot, set in the interstices between second and third series. Plenty of Blake, plenty of everybody, lots of fun! Since I was an author, I'll provide a few quotes to whet your appetite:

... Avon snapped, "Whether it's a trap or pure accident, we have to look after ourselves. At least I plan to. You saw them. They don't know Roj Blake from a hole in the ground. We're safe here. Wherever here might be."

... Orac sat, unattended, on a table.

Vila gawked. "I think we should just give this up and rob these people blind."

..."I am Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Federation Starship Enterprise. Supreme Commander Servalan, I presume?"

"Avon's Adventures on Wonderworld" by Celeste Hotaling-Lyons: an absolutely incredible parody of Alice in Wonderland, divided into chapters such as "Space Falling" and "Timex Squad." The style is spot-on--imagine Vila as the White Rabbit--"Oh my adrenaline and soma!" It's frightening what close parallels can be drawn....
