I've now worked my way through the various Avon Club zines I own.
General comments on the zines:
A5, with the size of print apparently reduced from A4 in some zines, so older readers will need to get their glasses out. The copies I have are fairly clear print.
They don't appear to have been edited at all - there are a number of typos, and a couple of places where planet names etc. have been mixed up. The paragraph layout is rather bizarre, making for unnecessary work in reading.
The first of the fiction zines from the Avon Club. This one is a sequence of three connected stories (the second and third originally appeared in Standard by Seven). In an alternative universe, things have gone differently after Pressure Point, eventually leading to Blake's death and Vila being mentally injured. The crew have to deal with their situation as best they can - and then they have to deal with the reappearance of Blake...
Blake is returned to his own universe, but not before he's seen the devastation caused by the last mission this crew went on, and learnt about the details of that mission. Can he use his prior knowledge to change the outcome when he finds himself called upon to attack the same Federation base?
Some minor technical flaws but in general nicely written; and the AU crew are more than just cannon fodder for the plot, which I liked. Some good Vila h/c, and a strong focus on Blake and Vila. I liked this zine.
