The Liberator sustains heavy damage in the battle with the ships from Andromeda,
and Zen shuts the life-support systems down, forcing the crew to abandon the ship in life-pods.

On the planet Sarran, Avon and Orac are rescued from savage tribesmen by a young woman called
Dayna. On the way back to her base, they find Servalan stranded there as well. Dayna's father,
Hal Mellanby is killed by Servalan as she steals Orac.
