Steven plays DCI Malcolm Savage in ITV's new drama M.I.T (Murder Investigation Team), a spin off of `The Bill.. Each of the 8 hour- long episodes opens with the grizzly discovery of a dead body. A Sun Hill copper, a teenage girl entombed in concrete, a small child's torso (and practically accompanying limbs), etc. It's not pretty stuff, but the Murder Investigation Team - led by DC Rosie McManus (Lindsey Coulsen) and DI Vivien Friend (Samantha Spiro) have only one objective - to find the killer and prove without a shadow of doubt who did it and how it was done. The first episode airs on Saturday 3rd May on ITV1 at 9.15pm.

The website says of Steven's character - Detective Chief Inspector Malcolm Savage - `Malcolm has been with the Met all his working life. Not just a good detective, he's also a damn nice bloke. Being such a soft touch the others do play up to him. As DCI, he's the boss; all major decisions are his, but with so many cases on the go he's a busy man. Ironically his wife works for the Police Complaints Authority. He thinks her rebellious, passionate side has rubbed off on him. But really, he couldn't be further from the truth!' Steven Pacey reprises his role in 'Celebration' as part of the 'Pinter on the BBC' series. BBC4 is televising a portion of The Almeida Theatre Company's production of this Harold Pinter comedy set in a restaurant. As a group of friends celebrate over a meal, details of their private lives are very publicly revealed. It is directed by Harold Pinter and the full cast is Keith Allen, Lindsay Duncan, Steven Pacey, Andy de la Tour, Lia Williams and Susan Wooldridge. Pinter at the BBC: Celebration is on BBC4 Friday 08 November 10:00pm to 10:45pm. Stephen will be playing Scott Ginsburg in Michael Rudman's 'Benchmark' alongside Jerry Hall from 11th September to 20th October at the New End Theatre, New End, Hampstead, London NW3 - Box Office 020 7794 0022.
Harriet Monkhouse: Unfortunately, all three of the reviews I have seen so far say the play is appallingly bad, though two of them think Ms Hall does quite well in the circumstances.
Michael Billington of the Guardian says "Stephen Greif also lends her hippy lover a certain rugged, ponytailed grandeur." The others mention him without assessing his performance.
So probably not one to rush out for unless you really want to see Travis with long grey hair and sandals, claiming to have discovered inner serenity in a Tibetan monastery.

Steven will be playing Tony Blair in the BBC's forthcoming political satire 'Jeffrey Archer - The Truth.' Written by 'Drop the Dead Donkey's Guy Jenkin, amongst the prestigious cast will be Richard Wilson (the Duke of Edinburgh) and Greta Scacci (Margaret Thatcher). Steven opens on 19th March in Somerset Maugham's comedy 'The Constant Wife' at the Theatre Royal Windsor for 2 weeks, then going straight into town from 2nd April 02 at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. The play is directed by Edward Hall (son of Sir Peter) and also stars Jenny Seagrove, Simon Williams, Sara Crowe, Serena Evans, Linda (The Avengers) Thorson and Lucy (Survivors) Fleming.

THE CONSTANT WIFE: Somerset Maugham's comedy of marital manoeuvres ran for three years in the United States before opening in London in April 1927. When Mortimer Durham storms into the Middletons' home revealing that Constance's husband is having an affair with his wife, Constance refuses to create a scene. A year later, and financially independent, Constance feels entitled to sexual independence. She announces that she will, as John has done, take a short break by having a holiday with an early admirer, leaving John first outraged and then appreciative of his remarkable wife.

Steven Pacey is playing the part of Basil Hallward in 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' this Sunday (30th January) on Radio 4 at 3pm.
It is a two part play with part two on the following week (Sunday 6th February). It is also repeated on Saturday 5th February at 9pm with part two being repeated on Saturday 12th February.

Steven Pacey can be heard on radio 4 in a dramatisation of Vicki Baum's Grand Hotel, playing a charming aristocrat. Part 1 will be repeated Saturday, 30 October, at 9 pm.
