Jacqueline is filming on the new BBC Classic drama series 'Daniel Deronda' by George Eliot, adapted by Andrew Davis. She plays Baroness Langen. The BBC's own news website describes it thus:
"Hugh Bonneville, Romola Garai, Hugh Dancy and Jodhi May are to star in Andrew Davies' adaptation of George Eliot's Daniel Deronda, one of literature's most emotionally intense masterpieces. "Daniel Deronda's highly original and modern in its feel," says award-winning writer Andrew Davies. "Set in the 1860s, it's a passionate, intense love story which takes both hero and heroine, Daniel Deronda and Gwendolen Harleth, on a journey of eventual self-fulfilment." The cast also includes Edward Fox, Celia Imrie and Amanda Root. Daniel Deronda will be filmed in Somerset, London, Surrey, Edinburgh and Malta. It reunites Andrew Davies with producer Louis Marks, the team behind the BBC's acclaimed version of Middlemarch, and is directed by Tom Hooper (Love In A Cold Climate)." Source Horizon 10-Jun-02

Horizon have been asked by Jacqueline Pearce to let everyone know as soon as possible that she is not after all now going to be doing 'Measure for Measure' at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival and says: "I feel that in the time available to us, I wouldn't be able to realise the director's vision of the play and therefore with great reluctance felt I had to leave. I wish them all enormous luck with it and I'm sure any of you who still plan to see it will find it an interesting production."
JCQUELINE PEARCE to appear in two new Doctor Who audio dramas from BIG FINISH: "The Fearmonger" (February 2000): Written by Jonathan Blum, directed by Gary Russell. Stars Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace, with a guest appearance by Jacqueline Pearce (Servalan from Blake's 7 and Chessene from Doctor Who's "The Two Doctors") as Sherilyn Harper: "The Doctor and Ace are on the trail of a monster that not only knows their every move but appears to be able to anticipate their actions too. The Head of the far right New Brittania party survives an assassination attempt, but the Doctor suspects there is far more to the affair than the failed slaying of a politician. As he and Ace fight their way through the prejudices which blind everyone touched by a very particular monster, they face the prospect of the entire world being plunged into a bitter war of mistrust and mutual loathing..."
Also starring Hugh Walters ("Revelation of the Daleks," "The Deadly Assassin"), Vince Henderson (Sophie Aldred's husband), Mark McDonnell, Mark Wright, Jonathan Clarkson and Jack Gallagher.
