The Federation installation on Fosforon was either Q-Base or one of a number
of Q-bases, and functioned as a radio-link station "amongst other things". A
relatively large number of personnel were stationed there, those named being
Bax, Bellfriar, Gambrill, Tynus, Tak and Wiler. An A-Line converter was
installed on the Q-base, the reason for Blake's visit. See Also FOSFORON.

Domo was situated on the edge of the 6th Quadrant. In Blake Tarrant surmised that suspension of the penal code on Gauda Prime "must have been a draw for every crook and killer in the quadrant", though which quadrant was unspecified. The relation between quadrants, zones and sectors was never explained, and quadrant may have been an astrographical division of localised or obsolete usage.
Federation officer with the rank of Colonel, and one of only two characters in the series (the other being Travis) to wear an eyepatch. Quute appeared to command field operations on Helotrix under the eye of the General, and ordered the neutron strike that killed Igin. He was last seen being clubbed to death with a rifle butt by a rebel of Hunda's 4th column.
